Painting With a Twist

Well, now I understand why it's a twist....because we can take our own adult beverage!  (Thank you, Carolyn!) Carolyn calls me up one day and asks if I would be available for a night of painting...."sure", I said, being the crafty person I am. This should be a breeze, I thought to myself.  So, she schedules us (me, her and Stephanie) for an evening of step by step painting of what looked to be the most simple picture out there!  Cherry blossoms in the moonlight.  Right! I was so confused the whole way through!  Carolyn looked confused and Stephanie looked like she needed more than a couple bottles of wine!

We all meet up, walk in and make our way to our painter's section.  Prepared for us was a couple of paper plates with 3 colors of paint, a cup of water, 3 brushes, an apron and our canvas.  There was also room for our bottles of wine, conveniently. We begin drinking our wine...i.m.m.e.d.i.a.t.e.l.y. Shocking, I know.  I mean, if we were gonna be proud of our paintings we'd have to be a little tipsy to see it differently than the professionals teaching the class.

Long story short: we begin with our painting, drink, try to shade colors to look like a moon lit night, drink, add another color to make it harder, drink, add some branches, spill wine on Anna's leg and foot (thank you again, Carolyn), add some cherry blossoms (or dots), take another 'sip' (chug) of wine, finish our painting and boom!  We have the most beautiful painting in the room!!!  Ours would be the ones being hung up for the next class to see what I spectacular job we've done! (uh huh) We could be teaching the class by next week!  lol With all the laughing we did (a little concentrating in between) I'm totally surprised we didn't end up with a totally different picture.  One girl did...no one in our group of awesomeness! Anyway, here are our finished products:

This was a great time with the girls and surprisingly our paintings still looked great the next day! lol  Did I mention Carolyn tried to out do me with her fancy, shmancy signature?  Well she did!

We should totally do this again! Worth it!
