A yummy recipe for you!

ORANGE CREAM CHEESE BREAD
OMG!  Have you ever heard of such a thing?  Yummm!  This is probably one of those recipes you could literally spread on your backside 'cause that's where it's going anyway!  I prefer to eat it and enjoy it, but to each their own.  This recipe makes 2 loaves and if you're feeling generous, you could double the recipe and make 4 loaves!

1 8oz. package of cream cheese (and this is where it starts!), softened
1/2 cup shortening (oh, please add some more lard!)
1 2/3 cups granulated sugar (hopefully this will give me the energy I need to work off the lard and cheese!)
2 eggs (this is a source of dairy, check it off your pyramid!)
2 1/4 cups all purpose flour (umm.....nothing.)
1 tsp. salt
1 tbsp baking powder
1 cup milk (ahhh...another source of dairy!)
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (protein?)
2 tbsp grated orange peel (eww..the feeling of grating an orange...not liking that too much!  It's like nails on a chalkboard for me!)
1/4 cup orange juice (source of fruit?)

1.  Combine cream cheese & shortening (my mouth is watering already!), cream well.
2.  Gradually add sugar, beating until light & fluffy.
3.  Add eggs, beating well after each addition
4.  Combine flour, baking powder and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour mixture.  Mix well after each addition.
5.  Stir in walnuts & orange peel.
6.  Pour batter into 2 (or 4) greased and floured 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 3 inch loaf pans.
7.  Bake at 375 degrees for 55 minutes or until pick comes out clean.
8.  Let cool for 10 minutes.  Sprinkle orange juice over loaves.

Hope you gain 500 pounds this season!  Oh, I'm just bitter because I'm almost there and I don't wanna be the only one!!!  Happy eating!
