Well, Thanksgiving is one week away and since I love baking, especially around the holidays, I thought I'd share some sweetness with you. I will be posting some of my favorite recipies, quotes, and things I'm thankful for. Tonight is almost at a close, so I will kick it off with one of my favorite recipies: Sugar Coated Pecans!
INGREDIENTS:
1 egg white
1 tablespoon water
1 pound pecan halves
1 cup white sugar
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
DIRECTIONS:
1. Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Grease one baking sheet.
2. In a mixing bowl, whip together the egg white and water until frothy. In a seperate bowl, mix together sugar, salt and cinnamon.
3. Add pecans to egg whites, stir to coat the nuts evenly. Remove the nuts, and toss them in the sugar mixture until coated. Spread the nuts out on the prepared baking sheet.
4. Bake at 250 degrees for 1 hour. Stir every 15 minutes.
"The best way to cheer yourself up is to cheer somebody else up." -Mark Twain (not Shania's brother! lol)
Austin's quote is a little different- it goes like this: "The best way to cheer yourself up is to eat a bowl of Cheerios"! (This, of course, would come out of the mouth of my 'cereal baby')
His other quote goes like this: "The best way to cheer yourself up is to put Folger's in your cup"! (This, coming from my kid who watches waaaaay to much TV)! Take Care and God Bless!
