The aftermath of the CMA's

Oh what a happy day it is today! I almost got my complete Nashville Fix last night with the CMA's.  The only thing that would have completed my night would've been me actually being there!  Apparently, my dad and my little brother were in Nashville for the awards, but Daddy says they never made it in because He spent all of his time trying to get my little brother off of Dolly Paton's statue!  Of course, that's what James (my dad) would say!  I'm not even sure why he had to throw my poor brother's name into his twisted, little story when we all know He was referring to himself! I know for a fact they weren't in Nashville! How?  Because  Daddy would've NEVER gone without me- unless, that is, if he heard about my previous trip to Nashville, in which, I would not blame him in the very least for leaving my starstruck, crazy self behind! lol
I must say this show will go down as one of the best CMA shows to date- in my book!  Brad and Carrie
could not have done a better job!  The opening was fantastic- with all material (jokes) written by Brad Paisley (hope he's still allowed to live in Nashville)! Carrie's 4200 wardrobe changes added to the evening!  She wore some jacked up outfits at times, but overall, Carrie is amazing and beautiful in anything she wears.  I totally would love for her and Martina to do a duet!  They would take the house down with their voices! If I were in Nashville I would soooo make that happen. How?  Well, I would tell them over dinner, of course.  We'd be besties!  I'd be besties with everyone in that town! Anyway, performances were all good except for the Zac Brown Band.  Really??  They have an amazing song out right now and chose to do 'Georgia' with the Allman Brothers!  (yawn).  I sang along with the first verse, then, I was over it!  If you're gonna have the ZBB on stage for a couple minutes why would they not want to sing one of their own amazing songs???  Again, if I were there, they would've sang Keep Me In Mind!  I wasn't too crazy about Natasha Bedingfield's dress.  Awesome vocals, but was Snuffleupagus her inspiration?

Holy cow, what the heck was she wearing??  Taylor Swift- cute little girl, lucky little girl-- she got to sit next to Tim McGraw!  Oh, what I would've done!  Taylor isn't my favorite, however, what a talent that girl has.  She's always on tour, sells out stadiums and writes all her music. But let's be honest, she's no Loretta Lynn who, by the age of 14, was married and had 40 kids and a house with a screen door! She left all them youngn's with her mama to go on the road with Doo (Loretta talking: 'that's my husband') to pursue her singing career. And, was nice enough to leave tootsie rolls in the top drawer for her babies! Now, that's country! If you have no idea what I'm talking about then I strongly recommend watching Coal Miner's Daughter!

Great movie, in fact, one of our (Tia Bae and I) favorite movies.  Better yet, we could perform the movie verbatim for you! Our calendar is pretty full for the month of December, but Bae and I can probably squeeze you in if you book early!  What about the highly anticipated Faith Hill performance??  Wasn't my favorite but I still love her!  What was up with her hair and makeup?  First of all, Faith is just naturally beautiful.  I wasn't feeling her 'drag' makeup or sprayed back hair.  It just didn't work for me.  Faith will always be one of my favorites no matter what!  As will Sara Evans, who, really surprised me with her notsagood vocal performance.  I totally love her and her music but I think she was singing a different song than her band.  :(  Anyway, she looked beautiful!  Who cares is she may have had an 'off' night, her looks alone will carry her through anything!  Martina, my number one!  Again, another amazing performance!  Her song- touching. Vocals- right on.  Appearance- gorgeous.  I don't need to go on about how wonderful I think she is.  Kenny Chesney and Grace Potter...loved it!  I liked the duo, the song, her hair... her hair was really pretty!  Simple, but pretty.  He, Kenny, I love and have loved since he first came into the music scene in the 90's.  He's got such a great country voice.  I wish he'd get off the beach and sing more country.  Still a crowd pleaser and still looks amazing on my home screen at work.
One of my mistakes was letting my sister come over without knowledge of country music! Because of her lack of country music knowledge it was question after question after question, blah, blah, blah!  "OMG, is he married? Why is she wearing that? What is his middle name? How long have they been married? What song is that? Have you ever seen her before? Do we have more wine? Don't you love that dress? Do we have more chicken strips? Is he wearing glitter on his pants? Can you dance like that? How long have they been in the music business? Do they live in Nashville?"  My Goodness!  I almost threw her off my balcony! Along with her chicken and wine!  (great combo, by the way)!  I mean, I know a lot about country music but that was ridiculous!  And then, she even tried to sing along to Eric Chruch's 'peekie boo' tattoo song. No, no, no!  This is not working and neither was my sister playing 'peekie boo' with her tramp stamp. lol! (Me thinking: where is Grandma's duct tape when I really need it?) I especially loved how she thought it was ok to constantly get up from the couch to stretch and make noise breathing!  I'm kidding!  It was nice having my sister watch the awards with me and hope that in the future this will be one of her best nights as well!  We may have to make a 'history' field trip to Nashville so I can get her up to speed before the next award show. There's nooo way she's coming over without a straight A country music report card!  My friend Annette will be going too.  She has no knowledge of country music whatsoever and has no idea what she is missing or who I will be marrying!  Her class will be a little more extensive, but I think, if she stays focused she has full potential of being Valedictorian of country music.    lol  Anyone else who would like to join this 'history' trip feel free to reach me @ guruofcountriemuzikandfuturewifeofjasonaldean.com! lol
Overall, it was a great night complete with fun, laughter, and only a few text messages from people I dearly love!  I did, however, decline one phone call from the school.  Why the heck are they calling so late anyway??  I will be making a phone call to the school today to make sure this never happens again on CMA night.
Top winners of the night included: Blake Shelton- Male Vocalist and hottie of the year, his lucky wife, Miranda Lambert- Female Vocalist of the year (that means little Shelton babies are underway), The Band Perry took New Artist of the Year and Jason Aldean took Album of the Year.  He shoulda taken Entertainer of the Year but that went to Miss Taylor Swift.  Wasn't thrilled about that, but I just love how genuine she is when she wins an award!  She's too cute and no doubt she does entertain!  So, congrats to her and all the other winners of the night!  Looking forward to the next award show!  And hopefully a trip to Nashville soon! Perhaps an award show...
