A few things

First off, hello!  I know I have not posted in a little while, but I've been very busy doing nothing! Austin's field trip, that literally seemed like two hours, went well.  I woke up at the butt crack of dawn, made and packed his lunch (yes, I do feed my children and care about their well being), jot down what he was wearing that day, and drove the king to his final destination- school.  I ended up finding a carry on cooler that worked especially well for hauling a Gatorade, 5 Hi-C punch juice boxes, a chicken sandwich, container of BBQ sauce, chips, nilla wafers, a cheese stick, shortbread cookies, beef jerky, Ritz crackers, tic tacs, a word find book, pencil and Uno cards for his enjoyment.  I made sure he would have enough food if he got lost!  lol (knock on wood)!  The kid wanted to take his DS, however, my irresponsible child cannot even keep track of his school ID much less an expensive DS.  "lose the Uno cards or word find,,, three bucks lost- at the most.  Lose a DS and you're screwed!"  So, he listened to wise 'ol mom and chose the boring Uno cards and word find!  I mean really, what did we have to play with on our field trips before IPods, laptops, DS games, etc.??? Hell, we played I spy, or the license plate game!  Good old fashioned games these unsocial kids know nothing about these days! We told stories, or threw little bitty rolled up pieces of paper at the back of the teacher's heads!  Not me though, I was respected my elders! Teacher's pet, if you will.  We sang songs, and literally had conversations with the people around us. Today, kids will text to the person sitting right next to them!  God forbid they make eye contact and make a sentence that makes sense! Oh, and don't get me started on the spelling of words that are used when texting!  This is the reason why kids these days can't spell, can't speak, and can't socialize! Technology.  Damn technology!  Anyway, as I was saying the cooler came in handy and actually made it back home along with my son!!! I was able to get ONE decent picture of my kid upon being dropped off, but he just wouldn't let me take pictures in front of his 'cool' friends!  He might actually be growing up already!  :(

After dropping Austin off for his field trip, I went home, got dressed and headed to Hobby Lobby.  This outing, for me, was supposed to simply be about 'getting out and looking'.  I won't go in to 'what I came out of Hobby Lobby with'.  Those of you who know,,,,"BE QUIET!!! Not a word!" I was in HL for only 3 hours.  I LOOOOOVE that store!  It's such a feel good store for me.  The music is refreshing and inspiring.  Did you know they play worship music???  Oh, it's soooo soothing!  And, they also observe 'family Sunday'!  What a great place!  I will gladly put money into a store like that!

It's now noon and Large Marge (my stomach) is growling, punching me, tugging at my esophagus, squeezing my lungs, and pinching my bladder!  Rude.  So, I took that as a 'gotta feed her now' sign. I leave, pick up a baked potato for myself and Jacob (again, I DO feed my youngn's) and he and I had lunch. Awwww, how sweet!  lunch for two at 'le casa de mama'.

Now, it's time to get Austin.  I pick him up, drop him off at home, and go to work on getting my oil changed and much needed inspection sticker!  Turns out, the oil was changed, no inspector on duty and they found a nail in one of my tires!  Always something with this car!  I swear I almost told them to keep the car! But how would I get home?  Better than that,,, how would I get anywhere??  "OK, OK, fix what needs fixing and do the oil change.  I'll do the inspection another day.  Again, DO NOT TELL MOM!"  Speaking of, I didn't want to wait for my car so I called dear 'ol Gracie.  As usual, she comes to my rescue.  But not without a price in mind.  I was now at her house, on what seemed to be 'lockdown' and she has this 'wonderful idea' of how we can clean the garage and attic!  "yay!! Gracie! What a grand idea you have!  I've always wanted to be on lock down at your house to clean!!!"  lol  Just kidding!  We needed to do this.  What I didn't need to do was let Gracie go up the ladder with an untucked shirt!  Yes, I said untucked.  There were a couple 'things' I saw that took me back to a time that I really didn't want to remember!  My sister, half naked, in my car with throw up everywhere!  hmmm.... so apparently my mom and sister both got the big boob gene!  Great!  Anyway, I didn't want to look, but was so drawn!  It was a moment between mom and daughter!  A bonding time! lol  "NOT REALLY boobs Maggee!  Calm down Gracie!'  As she proceeds to climb higher up on the ladder, I just couldn't deal anymore.  She was wearing soft shorts, baggy shorts and to save what was left of my corneas, I shut my eyes tightly, lowered my head and decided to wait until she was all the way up in the attic!  I could shut the door at this point and make my getaway, but I didn't.  Instead, I rose to the occasion, went up there with her and helped organize her entire attic in like half an hour and even offered to help her with a garage sale!  What?????  What the heck???  Was the heat in the attic getting to me??  Holy shiznit! Now I'm committed--and not too happy with the stinking little voice that told her that! In that moment, my sister and niece show up! Awesome!  my rescue team!  And she did just that!  Rescued me.  Took me to get my car, went home to my newly decorated apartment just to end up right back at mom's again---for dinner! How amazing is mom?  Let me count the ways:
1.  she picked me up from the auto store so I wouldn't sit there alone for 2 hours
2.  she let me help her organize her garage and attic (I'm OCD and she knew I'd love to do that!)
3.  she let my corneas dissolve into dust after the view up her shirt
4.  she did not throw me out of the attic (for all my smartie remarks)
5.  she let me go without a fight (she was probably tired of me and my sarcasm- which I don't have)
6.  and she made dinner for us!!!  (yummy rice and roast and tortillas and lethal hot sauce)
Gracie really, truly is an amazing woman- NO LIE!  I love her so much!

Sunday came around and with the time change, for some horrible reason, I was up bright and early!  I went for a run, then went to church.  Monday came around and I realized that running is overrated and can be hazardous to your unused muscles!  Ouch, ouch, ouch!  Going down the stairs was a joke!  It hurt so much to even push on the gas pedal! lol  Why people voluntarily inflict this kind of pain on themselves is beyond me!  But I will continue to do so, so that I can wear my thong bikini this coming summer!  Look out Cher!  lol I'm kidding about the thong, but not so much about the bikini!  I WILL get into one and WILL look decent in it!!!  But I WILL not be in the sun!  (Some of you remember my very painful situation with the 2nd degree sunburn on 90% of my translucent body!)  NOT going there again!  I would rather keep my flesh on me!

So, here I find myself on Tuesday, still sore from 'notsafunrun' and excited about this weekend's garage sale with Gracie! Tonight are the eliminations on DWTS. I'm thinking Nancy Grace is 'bye bye' and tomorrow night is one of the best night's of the year!!!  CMA's!  I will not be available from 7-10pm.  For those of you who really know me, thank you for respecting my time.  For those of you who don't really know me, well, you really should not call or interrupt me during this time! Consequences can be harmful to your health!  :)  jj !  I cannot wait for tomorrow night's show!  My boys know to eat prior to the show and know that even though mama is physically on the couch, mentally she's at the CMA's with all her country music crushes around her, fighting for her attention!  So, until next time... have many blessed days and know that I'm grateful for my family and friends!  xoxo
